  1. As much as I hate junk mail, it still comes even after I have gotten off as many "lists" as I can. It is all money related.

As long as sales cover the cost of junk mail, there will be junk mail. I toss my in the garbage before it even gets into the house. You may have had some blocked but it takes up to 12 weeks to stop it from coming and as soon as you forget and actually order something from a flier, you can legally be put BACK on their mailing list.

I'm not a tree hugger but just think junk mail is a huge waste at least of my time and my garbage space.

  2. A lake can be refilled, does that mean we should drain it?

It's a very energy and resource intensive material that serves little purpose to society, since most people throw it away unread.

  3. of course trees can be replanted but it take so many years for the trees to grow. just imagine, we cut down all the trees in the world just for all these junk mails, so we plant all the trees, you don't expect to have really big trees all around the world the next day right? so junk mail is very bad. waste of natural resources for nothing. junk emails are better.

  4. it takes gasoline to power the trucks to move the trees with gives off polution.. and alot of it

  5. one important reason is loss of biodiversity because even though the trees can be replanted it won't be a true "forest" again for a long, long time. a true forest grows in layers. in a planted forest the layers are lacking or nonexistent (bushes, short deciduous trees, etc.) leaving the forest floors open to erosion. you also have to consider that a man made "forest" can never contain the variety of flora necessary to mantain a healthy ecosystem.

  6. Very funny youtube,  we pick our mail up at the post office, an the junk mail  goes into the trash can before we even walk out the door.

But apparently many people do fall for the junk mail hype, other wise they would quit sending it.

  7. You do realize all that goes into planting them and the fact that it takes quite some time for them to grow? How about we eliminate much of the need to replace the trees by reducing our consumption.....
