  1. After the Korean War, the two basically became seperated by a DMZ (demilitarized zone).

North Korea is a Communist nation

    South Korea is a Republic

  2. ones are dumb lol

  3. The same with Viet nam, Germany, Afganistan, Irak, etc. etc.

  4. Korean war. You can google that and read more, or read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_War

The gist of it is that Soviet supported group was at war in 1950 against Western supported group. Eventually the war ended in the communist group getting control of the north, bordering Russia, while the pro-Western goup set up a government in the south. No peace was ever declared, so technically the two countries are still at war. Predictably, the south went on to prosper, while the north went into severe decline (even though the leader is officially, practically worshipped as a God).

PS: You can thank the current governments of China and South Africa for continually quashing discussions in the UN for trying to bring North Korea to task for it's nuclear threats. I am South African and feel very ashamed of that, even after the big role that South African pilots played in the war, to ensure that there is a free South Korea today.

  5. the Korean war.  North Korea wanted to be a communist nation but south Korea did not.  so they created the DMZ zone so that both nations could exist.

  6. Korea was split into North and South after the Korean War,the North having a Communist government and South democratic government. This was done after the signing of armistice (not to be confused with a peace treaty which has never been signed...therefore the two countries are technically at war) to stop the fighting.

In conclusion they split because the North was Communist and the South was democratic.

  7. After the Korean War there was a DMZ zone esablished.  This zone in turn created a North and Sout Korea which still exists to this day.
