OK-so, I can play the piano, clarinet, and alto saxophone. I have some musical ability. My problem is the guitar-way different than the others I know. Can anyone help me?

BTW-not enough rhythm to play the drums but I can usually keep on the beat.

  1. Everyone that starts this games sucks. I have played a few times and more and more you do get better. Try putting it on practice or easy and play that song a few times to get it down. It can be fun when ur not stressed about playing it! Good luck!

  2. I think you probably have a similar problem that I do. I play every instrument from piccolo to tuba, and I am great at most of them, but I just cant get guitar. I think the issue is how awkward the strings are for someone who isnt used to them. I think that if maybe a violinist or a cellist were to learn it they would pick it up far quicker than us because we are naturally more accustomed to wind instruments, while they to strings.

  3. take lessons. a teacher can teach you excercisees to help you get started and teach you chords and how to read notes and stuff. practice. it takes some time.

and maybe you should stop playing so many d**n instruments and you'll have more time for one!

  4. you just have to practice different chords alot and you will evantuly get muscle memorition

and seriously you have to do each one over and over again

  5. It's not, you suck, give up.

  6. Piano is usually a person's base where they started learning music, so you can feel comfortable with it.  Saxophone and clarinet are two related instruments that don't have very many differences when you play them (I would know).  The guitar is a whole different feel.  It's a different type of fingering that the left hand has to learn.  Not only that, but the guitar plays mostly chords, which can be a new world to step into.  It's even more confusing if you're playing guitar TAB, which takes out the traditional music staff completely.

It's okay to feel uncomfortable with this new, different instrument.  You'll get the hang of it eventually, and when that time comes, you'll have a lot of fun rocking out with your guitar.

  7. Im learning guitar as well. And yes, it is difficult. I have been playing for about 6 months now. and My friend just started about a month ago.

She plays piano, flute, and violin.

Because she plays violin, she is learning so much faster than i am. because she is used to strings and switching from one to another easily.

Hang in there, and I promise, it will become a lot easier.

Just take lessons, and practice practice practice.

You will get frustrated, but its worth it when you can do it well.
