  1. I dont know .I always leave a tip whether the service is good or not.Ive been down that road and I know how hard it is.

  2. When we choose to eat out, I tip according to the service that we received.  If the service was great I leave a nice tip, if not then I leave alittle less of a tip.

  3. they are cheap selfish and uneducated ti the fact that waiters make 2.13 and hour

  4. some people just dont understand, and they never will.

  5. I think they don't understand that at most places, wait-staff works for tips.  They don't get paid c**p.  Also, some places the service is just really bad.  I like to leave a tip because if I get good service it's like my way of saying thank you.

  6. because after ordering your order and eat...then you get the bill sometimes is more than what you plan on spending so now that you overspend...you may not can afford to tip....sometimes that could be the problem ...

  7. Tipping is the prerogative of the person who has received a service.  Sometimes when the service provided is less than exemplary, tipping hardly seems worth the effort since "a tip" is in addition to the required payment for a service  and the economy is currently, in a downturn.  Tipping is in order and a positive expression of gratitude when the server has gone out of his or her way to meet the needs of the customer in a prompt and courteous manner.  For a contrary example, I NEVER tip when my basic service  requests/needs are not answered in a timely and courteous manner because such tipping condones mediocre service and rewards negative behavior.

    .

  8. i ALWAYS leave a tip, unless the waiter/ress has been spectacularly rude or the food was appalling,  because I just dont see the point. a tip is a bonus, and optional for the customer. i think you should only get it if you deserve it, because it will make you work harder..

but hey thats only my opinion

  9. Leaving a tip is mostly a western thing. Lots of other countries don't do it.

  10. Some people are just f'n cheap... i went out to eat w/my son's aunt and this heifer didn't want to give a tip then tried to take down the one i left.. i told her the waiter was good, the food was good, the waiter was attentive so why not tip him good but this B was like she don't care she don't never leave nothing.. i don't go out eating w/her asssss no more because i'm sure when folks recognize her they be like we gonna spit in her S**t.. don't want them spitting in mine..

people of all races do it.. so dont' think it's just one type of people that do it.. I'm african-american and she's hispanic...l

i just don't like when the waiter doesn't have the table ready but seats us anyway, or when they forget the folks, knives and napkins, doesn't ask if we would like a appetizer or something to drink.. i don't like when they are talking to everybody and their mother while i'm trying to get their attn or place my order.. some just don't deserve a good tip.. i like to give more than the 15-20% if the waiter was very nice....

  11. Because they are in a quandry.
