Why is lightning hotter than the suns surface?

Some people survive lightning hits, but if you were on the suns surface, you will die?

  1. The sun's surface is only 10,000 degrees F, whereas its corona is millions and nobody really knows why.

    Lightning is about 20,000 degrees C.  Most people struck by lightning are incinerated, not electrocuted.

    If you were on the sun's surface, you would die for a lot of reasons unrelated to temperature!

    The temperature difference between the sun and lightning is the manner in which the heat is produced.  One is electrical, the other nuclear.  Too complex to explain here.


  2. because lighning is electricity the reason it is hot is because it moves very fast. the surface of the sun has no air and is just trillions of tonnes of burnning gas. lightning only lasts two seconds at the most
