One of the big reasons is that it will go into the water supply, both inground and above and into the lakes and oceans and the chemicals that make up the trash will contaminate that water where it will no longer be easily usable as it is now.  And some of it may not be usable at all.  It would create a disaster to try and contain a body of toxic water.  Possibly even causing the government to evacuate and abandon the area like they did in the west when a Canadian gold firm dumped cyanide into the river making it unusable and making the region unlivable, most likely for thousands of years.  And that's just one aspect of it!!

Littering is bad because it is harmful for pets, including fishes.

Also, inside NYC Subway, I see lots of litters and rats running around. Also garbage can start to make electric fire start, which suspends the subways, divert subways or delay subway as in result.

New Yorkers/New Jerseyers never listen and they kept throwing garbage on the track, sidewalk.

Even chemical from detergent can make fish dead.

Also people does not respect environment or mother mature beach at Dead Horse Bay (Flloyd Bennet Field, Brooklyn), we collected about 400 garbage during the Beach Clean Up trip.

For example if there was chemical in water, sea creatures are most likely to be died.

Fish can eat six-ring pack because that is same size as small fish.

I also have spotted someone's dog trying to chew on garbage.

That's why littlers/garbage are bad.

Littering makes neighborhoods, streets, etc., look trashy and dirty.  Then, it becomes someone elses responsibility to clean it up.
