Why is malanin in asian yellow?

  1. Yeah, Asians aren't yellow at all.  They're just a different shade of brown.  Also, it's a misconception that people with darker skin have MORE melanocytes (the cells that make the melanin), but that's incorrect.  A person of African origin has melanocytes that just work harder and make more of the good stuff than a person with less.  Melanin is awesome stuff that really is so useful for the body!

  3. It isn't. Melanin is the same colour in everybody.

    It is just how much of it there is that makes you darker or lighter.

    (And look again, asians are not yellow)
