Why do you think this is? Are we just smarter, luckier, stronger, or all of the above?

  1. We are the most evolved lifeform on the Earth. We are the only species which has discovered mathematics and science and the only species which uses technology!

  2. because we are the only creature that have spirits!dogs dont go to heaven or h**l!just us humans!!!they dont have spririts and we know technology and are smart

  3. Skyscrapers and America's Next Top Model

  4. Because we define what it means to be superior in terms of the advantages we have over other animals?

Seriously, while humans ARE undoubtedly the most intelligent animals in a broad, tool-using, language-having, art-making, cooperative-learning sense, there are many animal species that outdo us in other areas.

We'll never know what it's like to perceive smells as sharply as any dog, nor will we be as strong a swimmer or have the acute electrical sensitivity of a shark.  We can't fly like eagles (without the benefit of airplanes, anyway) and we can never outrun a cheetah.  There are animals better adapted to extremes of cold, heat, and radioactivity than we are.  If you want to claim that humans win, you really have to define the game.

If you want to know why we're more intelligent than other animals, there are numerous reasons.  I once watched a TV program that said that most of the things we think of as distinctly human are actually witnessed in other animals.  The major defining trait of humans that separates us even from other apes is apparently our ability to teach others.  Apes can learn by observation, but they don't transmit knowledge to their peers.  That apparently sets us apart because it allows us to accumulate knowledge over generations, rather than having to relearn everything all over again.

We are NOT more evolved than anything else.  Every living organism can trace its evolutionary history back to the last common ancestor, which means that we've all had the same amount of time to evolve since then.  If a modern species closely resembles its distant ancestors, it only means that that species has found a good, stable ecological niche to fulfill, and it fulfills it very well.  But it's spent just as much time getting there as anybody else on this planet.

    I hope that helps.
