  1. cause it's different numbers, different questions, it's the subject where you have to actually solve out the problem, while science and history is facts, and english is just thinking outside the box

  2. You know I was going to skip this answer but I saw someone that wrote down history and science as facts and english as thinking outside the box which is so wrong.  First history written and modified by the hand of the strong.  Science is an educated guess.  English is creativity and amusing.  Math is fact.  If you prove something in math to be true it always remains true.  Any other science get modified.  Why do I say this.  Simply because I am a scientist.  Doing PhD in math.  Did I my thesis in control of a biological model.  Minored in Electrical engineering.  Extra extra.  Anyway that said.  Now there are amazing people in math that get things so quick and so good beyond our ability as normal humans I guess.  The rest simply work at it.

To be good in math.  Understand the concepts.  In other words question every little thing.  I mean everything.  Even whatever is on your book.  If its a theorem and they prove it, then follow the proof and understand if it is true.  I assure you some of the proofs are not true.  Simply because most of the time they use something they haven't introduced yet, which makes it false.

So how to be good at math.  Learning process.  Thats it honestly.  Most people can learn anything.  Its a matter if you train your mind that way or not and if you are willing to put the time and effort in it or not.  Now it would be hard because I am guessing your even talking about some simple math stuff.  But that the rule of the game.  Grad level things still hard.  Guess what you just work and work and work and work and work and work... you get the point.  Now here is the thing, if you are doing anything remotely close to being of substance in this life,  this will never end.  So good luck on that.

  3. You need to understand the maths topic fully before attempting to solve any problems based on it. If you feel that you cannot understand a topic because you haven't properly understood the basics it is built upon, then first read and understand those basics fully. Take help of family members/ good friends/ teachers to help you understand the various topics. Solve maths problems daily and have them checked by others. You will certainly do well if take deep interest and work hard.

  4. Maths is really not tough!

Only the problem is that when u dont get the correct answer or u get stuck up!

  5. I think that a lot of people find Math difficult because it is abstract. People often do not see how it applies to the real world and therefore they just close their minds to it. You learn about graphs, and formulas but teachers rarely explain why that formula is used. I think Math would be easier if more emphasis was placed on application.

  6. you not paying attention to it.

just kidding. if you like something and are interested in it then it will be easy. if you don't like it then it will be very hard to learn it. i like math so it is easy for me

  7. The complexity of nature and the inter connectivity of all discipline of biology, chemistry, economics and various diciplines

  8. I don't know.

What I do know is that most maths is not difficult.

It has got to be a mindset thing.

My wife can write economics essays. Now that would be hard. No way could I stick with that. They don't actually make any point that couldn't be made with a few lines of maths. Instead they write pages of nutty stuff.

    Its a mindset thing.

Most new maths usually builds on something I know already.

I'm guessing that most people who find maths ok, build maths on other maths.  From my perspective, if I don;t have the groundwork, the required prior knowledge & tools then its not going to happen.  If I have the tools: it's going to be easy enough.

I know so many just shake their head & give up, but if you have problems, maybe look for the why? Maybe look for the thing, the tool they want you to apply that you don't have.  Break it down till you know what's missing: where the gap is.

I know, not much help when you "just don't get it", but at least, maybe you'll be closer to knowing what you should ask about. :)

  9. Some reasons why people find math to be tough is either because:

    a) they have weak foundations

    b) new concepts intimidate them

    c) they have trouble visualizing the problems

    d) they just don't practice enough or

    e) math is just not their thing

  10. hard problems!! its hard because it has a lot of problems!!!!!!!! LOL:) just kidding!!! well for me math is not tough! for me its that easiest subject. my range for math is 98-100 thats what i get for the school year and i am going to 9th grade.

  11. aths is not tough

  12. cause it's not simple..

  13. see there are two streams in maths --- pure and applied.

i personally found pure maths boring but applied maths interesting.

fyi --- i'm an engineer from a premier insti of india

  14. its NOT. I have bachelor degree in math and I found it very comfortable and easy study.  What is needed in math is consistency.

If you lose consistency then you are finished at the spot. For example if you learn algebra, then you cannot afford to forget it. If you forget it then you cannot do calculus. Same thing holds for calculus too -- if you forget it then you cannot do differential equations and so on.

In other words everything builds on one another and you have to be up to date with the basics of  pre-requisites. If you do that you can never have a problem in math. It is a simple process that requires practice. If you practice enough, it gets stored in long term memory.

Its just that some people don't bother to be consistent and procrastinate or don't like to practice much. Those are largely the ones who find math tough.

  15. its not tough dear.the thing is that u must get the things properly in  your mind.rest, noone could beat you...all the best
