being in a wheel chair myself i need a scooter to go to the store and laundrymat and other chores to survive but medicare will only pay for a wheelchair or a (p.o.v. scooter) once every 5 years i use my chair to go to the store but i can only buy a days worth of grocery for there is no way to carry the bag's on a heavy duty scooter you can pull a wagon to help you with the other chores you need to use it for. i found a scooter called a flagship which is completely covered like a squashed vw it has doors and wipers so you can travel thru harsh weather that can be set up to pull a small wagon how can i get help to get me a scooter like this to do my other chores since i am on fixed income?

  1. Since you mentioned medicare I am assuming that you are in Australia. My wife used to be in a wheelchair but is in remission. We contacted Disability Services Queensland and they put us in touch with a group called MASS (Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme) . These people came out to the home and assessed the situation and if they agreed that the you meet the requirements they would supply a suitable scooter/wheelchair at their expense and they would pay for the upkeep of it.
