Question:

Why is meeting humans temporary?

Why is that? Since a very young age, at Church camp, etc., when I would meet someone, I would want to stay in contact, via letters, e mail, phone calls, etc. I would go home, write them a letter and say how nice it was to meet them. But the majority of people that I meet, can and are ready to let go and it does not phase them if they see one another again. This is very hurtful to me. I would like to know the psychological answer to why I want this and most just merely move on. Once I meet a good friend, I could be there acquaintance forever, pending it is safe and mutual. Please only serious answers. This is more of a scientific one, I think. Not a social one?

  1. I have the same problem. I meet random people who I truly would love to become acquainted with, but they seem to have other things in their mind, that they don't realize there could be a very good friendship in that relationship. Maybe those people have a very social life, and they are too busy in their daily schedules that don't have space for another friend. That's what I've fallen to think now. Agree?

  2. ...life is challenging and changing daily...

...some people are content and stay where they are...

...others accept the challenge and move on...

    ...good luck...

  3. Many brief or incidental meetings may end with an exchange of contacts and assurances that you will "keep in touch".  People feel good about meeting others and being pleasant and sociable.  But when it comes to actually following through with continued contact, most people simply do not have the time or energy to devote to continued friendships or communications with the hundreds of people that they may meet in a lifetime.  One, or a few, long-term friends or even a dozen in a lifetime are enough, thank you.

  4. Some people do not know or care to keep in touch. Others do not know how to be real friends. You need let go of the hostility that you feel when people lose touch with you, you will be a far more happier person if you do so.
