Why is metro manila on red alert when all the fighting is in mindanao?

Because of the increased threat of bombings.

Look at what just happened in India recently.

Muslims love to bomb, and they really do not care who gets killed (women, children, fellow muslims).

The fighting may be in Mindanao but the militant people are mostly in Metro Manila where the seat of the national government is.  As a precautionary measure, the powers that be decided to put Metro Manila police on red alert too.

actual combat with furious exchange of firing is not a joke.  i bet none of you had experienced that scary situations.  if you asked me, i tell you i'd been there before.

it's better to be aware of any terrorist attack in metro manila particularly these coming days.   avoid going to places with full of people.  you'll never know...  today you are here..  tomorrow you are gone.

Maybe the government, specially the police and military, just want to be on the safe side knowing that there are Muslim militants in the metropolis and at anytime, with instructions from their counterpart in Mindanao, might strike without warning.  Muslims might think that fighting in Mindanao is not enough and would want to start one right at where it could do more damage and casualty and could even possibly cripple businesses and the country's economy.

Let us not be complacent that fighting is confined in Mindanao only or in some areas in Mindanao and could not spread to the other islands or cities in the country.  Muslims are found in every city, town or province.  We should not be shrouded in a false sense of security that these "peace-loving" Muslims who live among us will stay mum or neutral and will not rise up and join their fellow Muslim brothers.  As they say blood is thicker than water and they are aware that their fellow Muslims are fighting for a land (island?) of their own.  It's to every Muslim's benefit.

it has always been that ironic. the reason is, the government uses the issue in Mindanao as a way to implement strict measures not for the so-called terrorist's attack but for the other groups. the government wants to suppress all groups who are going against them, including those engaging in mobilizations.

Metro Manila is in red alert for precautionary measure.  Since there are Muslims in the capital, you will never know who are the sympathizers.  Since the victims in Mindanao are mostly Christians, retaliation could happen against both sides.

These however is not an indication that Metro Manila should be band for travelers or the like, it is generally peaceful here and most people are educated and highly civilized human beings than MILF separatist.  Most Muslims despise arm struggle and so are all Filipinos, generally the separatists are egoistic selfish tyrants, robbers, and terrorist.

Because the United Opposition claimed that the real enemy is the dwarf in the Palace. So the resident midget is in danger of being bombed to pieces. The attention might be diverted to Manila, hence, the military alert level was raised to red.
