My daughter is about ot be 11 months old, but her hair is shedding tremendously and it is dryer. She was born with head full of thick hair and it is only recently that it started to do this. She had a dry patch in the back from about 2 months on, but now it is shedding, falling out and drier. I keep moisture in it and that works, but one day without and it is super dry again.

  1. You may have to get some dry scalp treatment. What are you putting in her hair? The pink lotion works well and they do make baby stuff, you can buy online from walgreens.

  2. I have three bi-racial children and all three went through the same thing.  We didn't actually know what kind of hair they were going to have until this process happened.  They started out cute and curly and then turned into straight and sticking straight up into the air.  Weird.  Kind of like when babies are born and their eyes look light, almost blue but then 6-9 months later, they turn brown.  I wouldn't worry about the hair falling out or shedding.  I think that part is natural.  Maybe talk to the pediatrician or a dermatologist to find out what's up with the dry spots.  I know from being black that our scalps are naturally more dry then other races, so that part could be normal too.
