Why is my 2005 ttr 125L engine knocking?

i have been ridin my ttr 125L then one day i noticed the engine started knocking. so i thought it was low on oil so i changed the oil in it, and its still knocking what do you tihnk is wrong with the bike? and how can i fix this? it also hasent been starting well you have to kick it over the electric start wont start it, somtimes it will and somtimes it wont, but the kick start will start it somtimes also, and somtimes it takes forever to get it goin and sometime it will idol for a bit then it will just shut off, what would you say theses problems are?

Methinks you have been neglecting your little motor cycle.  How long since you have put it in for a proper service and tune-up?  Put your hand deep in your pocket, drag out some cash and and take your motor cycle to a mechanic.  Regular maintenance should prevent these things.

Knocking in an engine is not good and it may need to be rebuilt by a professional so I would not ride any more until a motorcycle mechanic looks it over. If your bike is a 2 stroke engine the engine will need to be rebuilt every 50 or so hrs but depending on hard it is ridden, etc.

well if you havent checked your valves for a while it may just be a valve a bit out. if you cant adjust them yourself just take it into the bikeshop...easy done
