Why is my 21 year old cat so hungry most of the time?

Have you had your cat checked for hyperthyroidism - excessive eating combined with weight loss is a symptom.  Also, has it been wormed lately?

My 19yr old is like that she always wants to eat.

I think it is because being old they don't use all the nutrients in the food.

I also get chicken livers for her ,,, cook them up and she absolutly scarfs them up... this seems to last longer than regular cat food.

I feed her can food so she will get more meat because of her age too.

I put some B vites in her food and knox geletin for connective tissue...

If she isn't fat I would give her as much as she wants... at 21 she has earned it!

Its probally a growth spurt.

Has your cat had a Thyroid level checked? Cats can get thyroid problems as they age, which can cause a change in appetite. Usually it shows up a few years earlier than 21. You've taken good care of your cat to have it live so long.
