my 5 month old seems to be so hungry recently. I have been feeding her baby food once at night for a few weeks now by doctors orders and still throughout the day she still seems hungry. Should I feed her more baby food maybe add in a lunch meal of it? I have given her more formula as much as she wants but it is still only about 20 minutes later and she is hungry again. She has been like this for the last week so today I gave her some cereal for breakfast because she ate a whole bottle and wanted more food and baby food for lunch....that is with still bottles with those meals and bottles in between. She seems less hungry now but I am scared to keep doing so because the doctor says all she needs is once a day of baby food but I just dunno. Do i listen to him even tho my daughter is hungry? She is seriously eating a bottle every 1-2 hours also I was wondering if it is normal for her to want a bottle to fall asleep to...She will not take a pacifier but wants the bottle in order to fall asleep so I have been doing this for a few nights now and she seems to do okay, she usually eats about 3 ozs. then will be out. She will want this bottle to fall asleep for naps as well as for bedtime even if she just ate.....any advice? oh yeah and when do you think its okay to stop using baby jug floride water? can I give her water that comes from the water maker in the fridge

  1. well it is normal because, baby's eat a lot so that's how they get baby fat, and have a belly at a very young age, so i would give him little meals and be giving him more food whenever he ask for more, it is natural that she wants a bottle before going to sleep because some people drink milk or something before they sleep.

    hope i helped

  2. She's probably going through a growth spurt. I'd say listen to your mother's intuition and feed her when you think she's hungry. Just make sure you're not giving her junk, stick with baby food. I think I used the bottled water until my kids were six months old. Good Luck!

  3. Well feed her like 3 meals a day and when shes hungery give are some milk the might do it :D good luck x

  4. I had the same problem when mine son was 5 months. He drank about 80 ounces of milk a day.  My pediatrician was very concerned about this, she said that by the time a baby is 1 year old, they shoud be down to 24 ounces per day and that him having so much of it could cause anemia.  She immediately had me start him on 6 ounces follwed by cereal for breakfast and bedtime, the same amount of formula at each other mean followed by veggies, until I cycled through all of them at 5 days apart to make sure there were no reactions and then once fruit was introduced I had to add that to every meal as well.  That was 6 weeks ago and now he eats perfectly on schedule...same time every single day like clockwork.  Also, he is a much happier baby now since he's not constantly hungry.  When I asked how much food to feed him, she said as long as he had his milk first to feed him as much as he would hungrily take (when he's not opening his mouth before I have a chance to reload the spoon and starts to get distracted I stop)

For his bedtime meal, I save about 2 ounces for after the cereal because he likes to have some formula while I'm holding him in the rocking chair to fall asleep.
