Why is my ABS light on and why do my brakes move by themselves?

Okay, I have always been a apprehensive driver but I am thinking of parking my car until I can understand what is going on with it.

My brakes aren't that bad but when I apply them, they begin to pump on their own. Its not even when I slam them on (because I rarely do that) they just do it all the time. The ABS light comes and goes.

I have a 1995 Chevy Corsica.

What the heck is going on?

  1. You need to take it to a repair shop where they can access the abs computer and pull the codes..it could be as simple as a bad wheel sensor or a broken ring gear on one of the wheels.

  2. You have 2 answer.

    1) The hub is going to be bad in the short time. Need to replace Hub

    2) The dust from brake pads cover the sensor. When you do car wash wash the inside well with pressure.

If this not solve the problem change the mechanic.

  3. most likely the ABS module is bad.you can just unplug the electrical connections but you will lose the ABS function or spend some dollars and replace the module.

you can still drive it.i have had the same problem on a cavalier and i just unplugged the module.brakes still work but you wont have the ABS function
