I am currently running at&t high speed internet (express) and has seem to have slowed down..I took a speed test and i got these results...[Download Speed: 330 kbps (41.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 328 kbps (41 KB/sec transfer rate)]

I have that norton at&t suite installed. Does this slow down you internet connection too? I have read in many forums that norton slows your pc down but I have never read anything saying that it slows your internet connection. Anyone having the same problem or has been through the same thing?

  1. I would talk to AT&T techsupport.  It sounds like there is a problem that may require more attention than a few sentences on Y!A will solve.  Beside, on Y!A everyone will just tell you you have a virus b/c no one knows what they are talking about.  I've had AT&T for a long time and the few times I've used techsupport they have been great.

  2. these forums should give you a better answer along with network tests.

Oh Speed is not affected on other people usage to the tele DSL users are not SHARED network like cable. (danaw)

  3. Broad band width is shared by everyone around you who has the same service. So during peak times (4pm-10pm) will be slow until some other people stop using the internet. These speeds can be slower if you are at the end of a cable line.

ALSO, Norton is a resource HOG on your computer. It typically weighs 600MB and can really slow your computer down. No tech support can help you there. Only a fast computer with more RAM memory.

    Hope this helps.

  4. because u are

  5. Guy. You should know the speed of your PC is connected with the internet connection. They are interactive. It is the same to download from the internet when you are transmitting things to a flash. If you want to speed up , you should uninstall something useless to free up your disk.

  6. your wireless reciever is probably damaged, or you have a viris. i have one of nortons products but there is something even better that norton....you should get Trend Micro Pro its $70 and its worth it. norton in my opinion is c**p and it seems fast at the start and ends up being slow after a few weeks or so. if your wireless reciever is broke you should ask at&t to replace for free, cuz my friend had the same problem and replaced it and it was back up to speed so ask at&t to replace it and if it continues get rid of norton
