do you mean the picture? if it isnt plugged directly into your tv, the picture quality will oscillate between good and grey/fuzzy. this is an anti-p****y measure installed into most consumer electronics, so you cant plug a dvd player into a vcr and record the dvd to a tape or anything similar. i would suggest getting an av splitter if your tv only has one input slot
