Question:

Why is my Everstar 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Leaking?

Help! My air conditioner is flooding my floor. The pipe it is coming out of is at the bottom of the unit and is too low to the ground to stick a pan underneath it. I've been using towels but it's just too much water. I thought this was "self-evaporating". The drainage hose that it came from doesn't fit around this pipe. Is this how it's supposed to work? Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem? Thank you!

  1. are you sure that the unit is slanted towards the outside and not slanted towards the inside.   all units should be tilted towards the outside so the water will drain outside and not inside.  when installing a unit, a level should be used to make sure that the installation is done correctly. you're kind of losing me about that pipe coming out of the bottom. shouldn't that pipe be on the outside of the window?

you might ask a friend to come and take a look at the unit. was the person who installed the unit knowledgeable about installing air conditioners?

if not maybe that's your problem.

  2. These portable units create a tremendous amount of water.I've never heard of a self evaporating one either. They create gallons and gallons of water.Something ain't right.Just study it closer.I wish that I was looking at what you had and maybe I could be specific on how to fix it.

    There is away though.Just study it closer.Maybe you'll find a remody.If not,take it back.
