Question:

Why is my Pin-Oak tree infested with flying insects?

I have a PIn-Oak tree that has been infested with wasp, hornets and flies for the last 3 years. They are killing the ends of the branches.....I guess by eating away at them. Last year I had alot of green branches laying in my yard from them. This year the dead branches are still in the tree but brown.

Has anyone heard of this problem. I noticed the same type of tree in another neighbor that has the same problem.

  1. Bayer makes a systemic tree insecticide, mix it up and pour around the roots, the roots take the chemical up and anything that feeds on the tree dies, pretty effective, get it at Lowes or Home Depot
