  1. Are you SURE it's not a tomato plant?  Skinny w/ pointy leaves, or sturdier w/ rounded leaves?

  3. The potato, as in the Solanum tuberosum, is very closely related to the tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. So not surprisingly the fruit will have some similarities between the two species.  Remember the tuber we eat is not the fruit of the Solanum tuberosum, the plant still flowers and sets fruit just as other plants do. The potato's fruit looks a bit like a small green tomato but full of seeds. Please note that they are also related to nightshade and have toxic fruit.

  4. Tomatoes and potatoes are both members of nightshade family, so not surprising to me they can do some weird things.
