Why is my TV flashing?

I have owned this Sony color tube television for at least 5 years now without a problem. about 2 years ago i got time warner digital cable with the DVR and it still worked without any major problems. However, in the last month or two my TV started flashing/flickering on startup. First it wasn't all that bad, it would flash for 30 seconds tops and then work fine. Now it can take up to 7-10 minutes to fully stop flashing.

Is this problem fixable or is it just because it is an outdated tv?

Go to the Sony website and get their 1-800 number and call them and see what they say.  I have never heard of one flashing before.

Well you should probably do to their website an get their number.

Maybe it has low self-esteem!  It should be on TV's gone wild.
