Why is my ac freezing?

After just a few hours water is dripping from the bottom and inside the ac is frozen! when this happens the air coming from the ac is not cold.

  1. Dirty filter and dirty coils also have freon checked


  2. Freon may be low Or coils could be dirty

  3. Hi, The airflow through the coils may be restricted with a dirty filter or dirty coils. Also the humidity levels in the house may be so high that this is happening naturally. Try defrosting and running the ac more at a lower fan setting. Unfortunately it also could mean that the freon needs to be adjusted.

  6. Airflow (dirty filter or coil,blower running on the wrong speed) or low on refrigerant charge.

    Make sure the coil is totally ice free by running the blower ONLY for 30 minutes.
