  1. the applesause had fermented like wine or beer u know apples have natural sugar once it spoils .even though it was in the fridge.just like when u pop champagne bottle.

  2. it either began to ferment or has a bacterial infection.

  3. Definitely fermented. Wont get drunk because its not ethyl alcohol that was produced but you would get pretty sick.

  4. Because it's gone bad - that's the acidic bacteria making it "bubble" like that.

  5. Most vacuum sealed jars pop when they are opened the first time (they are supposed to do that).

If it was after originally being opened I'd say it was going bad/fermenting.  Put it back in the fridge & see if you get applesause wine after a couple more weeks.   (as long as it doesn't get black & fuzzy in the jar, then throw it out)

  6. It sounds like the applesauce has begun to ferment in the jar. Fermentation happens as the fruit ages...making it taste carbonated...It's odd that it happened to applesauce in a properly sealed store container.

  7. It's old and starting to ferment....
