Why is my bamboo plant only grow leaves now?

I bought 2 bamboo plants in 2004 , they curly kind. Thet are growing really tall, like doubled in size, but why are they just growing up with leaves? Does anyone know? Thank you.

i work in a garden centre, and your question makes no sense. ur bamboo is growing upwards? wots rong with that?

the same thing happened with my mums bamboos

they grew in a spiral shape for a meter then started sprouting leaves about 6 months after we bought it and it had grown about 30 cm

maybe its cause it didn't need that much food for it to grow before then at a certain stage it needs the leaves to get more food
