Why is my bank overdrafting me when I still have money??

I still had like $12 available balance and they charged me an overdraft fee.

  1. Everyone makes mistakes, even banks occasionally.

    Print out a copy of your most recent transactions and bring it to the bank with you. Ask them to explain it.


  2. How much was whatever you bought or spent?  If it was more than $12.00, you overdrew.  

  3. ~~If the amount of the check they didn't pay was over your balance available then they charge you NSF charges. If they paid the check and your balance was still $12.00 then I would say they made an error. I just depends if the check after being deducted from your account would have overdrawn you.~~

  4. If the draft is for more than $12, then it is an overdraft.
