Why is my bass fading in and out while my amp power light is flashing on and off?

I have 3 10" mtx 5500's in a ported box with an mtx 1501d amp pushing them. kinetic hc 800 power cell in trunk wired with 4 gauge wire, and a kenwood kdcmp238 cd player

you may not be getting enough power to the amp , when the subs hit it is a huge drain on the battery . i would suggest getting a capacitor , this most likely will solve your problem .

diesel is a bit right - if the lights are dimming and voltage is dropping, it can cause this fault, but capacitor will not SAVE you. you should have good cables, batery and alternator.

It's obviously the amp, could be it's going bad, or a loose connection, check power wire, ground, and the blue instant on wire, trace them to thier sources, make sure they arn't loose.

You could always bring the amp to a dealer and have it tested.
