Question:

Why is my boat engine alarm is going off even with the key out and out of the water?

It's a 2001 Glastron 195 with the 4.3L volvo penta. Anyone know why its doing this? Thanks for your help!

  1. some of those alarms do short out , what i done in the past was disconnect the plus side of the battery and it would reset it self , about min  would do it, if it a trim alarm just have it calibrated


  2. John we need more information is it a high temp alarm or low oil?

    However it seems to be a short in the wiring or faulty sender especially if the ignition is turned off.

    Please don't ignore the alarm and disconnect it, get it sorted out you need this alarm for safety sake.

  3. You may have a chaffed wire that is closing the alarm circuit somewhere.
