O.K. I got some bottled water in an old vending machine, one that you insert money and you open the door and you get what you want. I use it to keep beer and bottled water inside instead of a refrigerator. But when I take the bottled water out it is all liquid and then starts to turn to ice. I thought that would be interesting to know how that happens. I thought on how that happens but I can't figure it out. So what do you think or know on this?

  1. Water at standard atmospheric pressure will turn to ice at 0 degrees C.

However it will not intantly turn to ice upon reaching the 0 point, it will have to release some heat content.Changes in pressure also affects the freezing temperature.

Your bottled water happened to be very near the turning point so that disturbing it somehow hepled water change its state.

I often experience this when I open a bootled water from my freezer.

Disturbing the bottle can cause pressure change inside.

  2. Because you live in Alaska.

  3. wow that is kinda bizarre .. It could possibly the fast temperature change with condinsation and  just science stuff that nobody understands

  4. Why DOES your water turn to ice? It is near the freezing point and when you open the bottle enough pressure is released to raise the freezing point so it freezes.

  5. im not sure it sounds 'really' wierd
