Why is my brother so selfish?

my brother is almost 17. he has been selfish his whole life, since he was a little kid. should i accept this cause my parents just say he is selfish and i should accept that he has a personality trait to be selfish? like he is a nice kid and everything just REALLY REALLY selfish.

Since he has had this trait since early years it is a case of accepting it I think.

With maturity he may change his ways - until then you need to live with it.

It sounds like your parents have excepted the way he is, and have chosen to ignore it, but they have admitted that he is, some people just can't help themselves and and are selfish, i don't know just why they are like this, so maybe if your parents have not only admitted this and excepted it them perhaps you also could. Maybe in a few years he will change and realize what he has been like and will mend his ways.
