I have a cable internet modum and a Zonet broadband router. My desktop computer is physically connected to the internet through the router in the far bedroom of my 2 bedroom apartment. My laptop in the living room is connected wirelessly. I've had this setup for a couple of months now and everything was fine. This morning the wirelss connection stopped working. My laptop indicates that there is an excellent connection but when i open a browser it is unable to locate any servers and says there is no insternet connection. I have reset the modum, router, and both computers and reconfigured everything and it still does the same thing. I've even tried taking al lthe security off my wireless connection and it still doesn't work. what could the problem be?

  1. You DO have "network" connection between your own computers on your home network;

    but you DO NOT have "INTERNET" connection from your modem to your incomming ISP signal.

    Therefore, the problem is in either your modem,

    or your incoming ISP connection.

    Test the modem first by unplugging from electric, and from ISP jack for 1 minute.

    If that doesn't reset the incoming ISP internet connectivity,

    then you will need to

    1.  Check if the modem is operating properly

    2.

    telephone your ISP and let them know there is a problem with their incoming signal, and they have to solve the issue (as long as your bill is paid  :)
