why is my budgies wing drooping - he is holding it away from his body slightly but doesn't have any trouble flying so doesn't seem to be in pain. He is less than a year old and is in a cage with a female

  1. If your bird is holding both wings slightly away from his body he is probably too warm.  But if one wing is drooping there is a problem and he should be seen by an avian vet.  Any number of things, from broken bones to tumors, could be the cause.

I hope your little one is okay.

  2. If you mean that he his holding his wings slightly away from his body - then he is fine. This is a way that budgies express two things. It could mean he is too hot or it could mean he is very content and happy.

If he is too hot then please move your cage to a cooler room.

  3. I have a budgie too but that never happened with him.

I would just keep an eye on him, as long as he can fly and still eats/drinks then I wouldn't be too concerned at present.

Maybe bring him to a vet for a check up?!
