I have a sony cyber digital camera and out of no where the batteries on the camera started dieing out on me, even though they were brand new. I've been using regular energizer batteries and the batteries go dead right away. Is this camera only supposed to use the sony cyber batteries? or is there something else wrong with the camera? Has this ever happened to anyone? If so, what did u do to fix this problem? Please help!!! : )

  1. you might need some rechargeable batteries for sony cyber digital camera or get a new camera.

  2. That happened to my camera with rechargable batteries and I got new batteries that worked like a charm!

  3. 1>>The rechargable batteries life reduces after every use So Check on the rechargable batteries life in hours.

2>>Go for standard company rechargabel batteries.

new hybrid Nickel-Metal Hydride hv longer life compared to regular Ni-MH rechargeables try them.

BTW: Digitail cameras are in "high-drain electronic devices " So you feel the Drain.

3>>Check on ur battery charger .Ensure you have one, which

have built-in protection to prevent overcharging or undercharging, again go 4 std  co

    good pointers ? :)

It seems help others and He helps U. I trust in him.Lets all trust in him

  4. We might have the same camera because mine does that too

it was brand new and i put new batteries in there and it still said it was flat then turned off no matter what kind it didn't work. It's frustrating i know but then i read in the instruction manuel that rechargeable batteries are the best for it and i agree they are good as-long as you get a thing to charge them in:)

    Good luck

  5. Regular batteries doesn't have the same capacity as rechargeable NiMH or Li-ion batteries.

Try getting replacement rechargeable batteries, either original or noname brands. If that doesn't help, I'm afraid there might be some problems with your camera. Repairing is more expensive than buying a new one.

Modern rechargeable batteries like NiHM or Li-ion have almost no memory effect like older NiCd batteries so you can safely partially recharge them after the first recharge.

  6. You may need to get digital camera AA's.

    Should fix the issue.

  7. maybe you need a new pack of batteries?

    or maybe its broken?

  8. Are they rechargeable batteries?

If not, then switch to rechargeable ones. Non-rechargeable batteries may have the same voltage but a lower ampage so they drain quickly. Even better, switch to lithium rechargeables - they last longer but you may need to make sure you get a recharger that takes lithium batteries.

If they are rechargeable batteries then you may have recharged them incorrectly, or they may be faulty. Either way, you'll have to replace them. When charging rechargeable batteries for the first time make sure you give them a full charge or else they have a tendency to 'memorise' where they were recharged to. Discharging them properly (on a battery discharger) would fix that, but if you don't have a discharger it's just as cheap to buy new batteries.

Look for batteries with at least 2400mah.

  9. you might need a new camera.

  10. Digital cameras put a heavy drain on batteries, especially if you use the LCD screen a lot.  Get some rechargeable Ni MH batteries.

  11. Digital cameras are designed to use intermittent power, the duration that the battery works is greatly depending upon your energy management skills. You need to learn to save the battery power,

    For instance:

    1. Turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder

    2. Minimize photo previewing

    3. Do not use continuous focus when not necessary

    4. Do not press the shutter button half way down for no reason.

    5. Carry another battery

You can get the battery from http://www.amazon.com. or get cheap OEM battery from some others, like
