Why is my camera saying low battery when I just put new batteries in?

I have a Canon Powershow A630, and made sure to try to get the right batteries for it. It takes 4 AA, so I bouth Energizer Rechargable batteries that are 2450 mAh, which means they last 4X as long as regular batteries. There are even pictures of digital cameras on the box- meaning I thought it was meant for one. The moment I put the batteries in, it said low battery. What's wrong here?

  1. Did you charge the rechargeable batteries up first? Usually when you buy new ones off the shelf, they won't work til you charge them so long.

  2. The camera is bad

  3. Are you sure the batteries were charged fully? I dunno, maybe you should try that. Or, the camera might have some issues. I suggest you take it to a shop.

  4. get some other batteries cuz with my camera  certain ones (even the ones that are made for digital cameras ) dont last long in mine. but I switched to using these safeway brand ones and my camera's battery lasted long...yeah you have to test out different batteries to find which is best for your camera

  5. same thing always hapens to me.. just ignore it, and it will work. just keep restarting it, or switch around the batteries. =]. hehe. hope it helps. !!

  6. i hate when they do that- maybe when you are not using the item -take the battery's out like i do and re-insert them when you need the item again

  7. The problem is with the camera. There is a tiny rechargeable battery built in to digital cameras. It holds the date and other information you enter. When the main battery is removed the built in one saves the stored info for a certain period of time until its lost. If the built in battery is overcharging, it drains your main battery. You need to get the camera serviced by Canon.

  8. cuase ya usin fukcd up emty or poor ones

  9. Your camera is rejecting the batteries like my uncle rejected his pig liver.

  10. maybe the batts are not fully charged?

  11. mine does the exact same thing.

like ill charge them for like a day.

and as soon as i put them in. they say low battery..

    but mine never dies.

    it just says low battery.

  12. The Nikon D300 (and probably other cameras too) is, apparently, very fussy about the batteries which it will accept.

    A fully charged non-Nikon replacement won't work.

I have no idea why this happens but it is well known amongst Nikon users.

It looks as if some Canons have the same problem.

You will have to try other makes of battery and find out which ones the camera accepts.

  13. becuz your recharged battery might have have bought a long ago and it old or ur camera may have been malfuction

  14. it probably doesn't work anymore if you know somebody that knows about technology especially about cameras ask them they should know.

  15. Did you charge the batteries all the way? You should charge them first before using,  but make sure you don't overcharge them.

  16. that happened to me...try getting a diffrent brand of batteries if that doesnt work their might be a problem with the camera and then u would have to talk to someone that knows about the camera
