  1. Sounds like you've overfilled your crankcase. Too much oil is just as dangerous to your engine as too little oil. All that extra oil will have no place to go, so it is forced up past the rings and burned along with the gasoline in the cylinders, causing the smoke you're seeing.

If your oil is not overfilled, then you may have a serious engine problem for which you would need a good mechanic.

  2. Well since it's only after you top off the oil then your valve stems might need to be replaced. Through the valve stem guides from the head is the only place oil could drip into the chamber. The smoke will burn blue if you are burning oil, it will burn white if you are burning water. Take it to a garage unless you have experience removing and rebuilding engines.

  3. oil in the chamber burns and causes smoke that is vented out the exhaust

  4. It's because you've put too much oil in!! LOOK at the dipstick.

  5. You probably have worn valve guides and/or stems. When you pour oil into the valve cover some of it leaks through the guides into the cyliders. It's a pretty good sign the engine is close to needing a valve job.

  6. Is it coming out of your exhaust or off of you exhaust? If it is off of your exhaust you must have spilled some oil on the hot exhaust pipes.

  7. Because you filled up with too much oil?

  8. Did you overfill the crankcase, that is did you add too much oil?

  9. As above, looks like you have overfilled it with oil. Not being funny, but do you know how to check the oil level on the dipstick correctly?

If not, consult your handbook. You could cause a great deal of damage by overfilling the engine with oil.
