Why is my car stereo silent?

I have a JVC KD SX-780 stereo/cd player. The other day I pressed two buttons at the same time thinking it would adjust the clock, and after 2 seconds a pop up saying SSM came up and the whole stereo went silent. What could be the problem? I've tried pressing the buttons again and it doesn't do anything. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

you muted your head unit push the same buttons u did before until the same thing happens or look at the manual and see how to unmute it

try disconnecting the battery. that will reset the deck and hopefully you will have sound.

I agree with Bill A, if you don't have the instructions then unhook the battery and the radio should default back to a normal mode.

cheack and see if your Speaker's are plugged in
