Iv'e got a volkswagen beetle, we already had to take it to get it fixed three times because it had something wrong with the oxygen sensors, it nearly uses 13 litres of petrol per 100km.

  1. With that fuel consumption I am not surprised the Oxygen sensors have packed up

If it is a Carb model Float level in carb may be too high

Should be doing about 8 litres per 100km

  2. It's because the tuning is faulty

get the tuning done so that the gas consumption will be corrected

  3. do you take the car to high revs before changing gear? if so there's one of your problems

another could be that your spark plugs or glow plugs(if it is a diesel) need changing (you could do this yourself, or have a garage do it for you)

    hope this helps

  4. check the airfilter

  5. If it is an old beetle this could be normal it may be a problem with your exhaust...try going to a VW dealer though to get it checked....go the volkswagen!

  6. Petrol. Hee hee hee. How cute. You and your little Euro-speak.

  7. if it is fuel injected you should get a fuel injection service , along with a tune up .... spark plugs , wires
