Question:

Why is my cat's mouth sensitive to the touch and she's not eating?

She is meowing like crazy, not really eating, and goes to snap at me when I get near her mouth. She is 14 years old and not usually affectionate, but now she is all over me. I'm seeing some yellow throw up around the house. I thought it was my dogs at first but I found some near her litter box. Any ideas?

  1. Take her to the vet first thing tomorrow.

  2. She may have an absessed tooth.Even if your cat eats only dry food, unless you brush their teeth,it's common by that age to have tooth problems.I'd call your vet tomorrow.

  3. Yellow vomit is usually "stomach bile" (the acids used to digest food).  This occurs when there is nothing in the stomach to vomit up.

Sensitive is a condition older cats can get and I recommend you take her to the vet.  She may need some teeth pulled or some treatment for her gums.  If you feed her dry cat food soak it in hot water until moist and soft or switch to canned.

  4. Take her to a 24-vet now.  This isn't good.  the longer you wait to take her to the vet the bigger the bill
