  1. Maybe because your kid is getting their feet burned on the sand? Do they fare better when closer to the water where it's cooler and wet?

Usually if my child is afraid of something, we just let him see us having a good time with it so he sees there's nothing to be scared of. He used to be afraid of this stuffed toy bowling set because I guess he didn't like the bell in the bowling ball. All it took was for him to see his Grandpa playing with it for him to get over the fear. LOL

So have fun in the sand w/ your child and things should sort themselves out. If they won't come off the beach towel, step away and start making sand castles or something. Curiousity will prevail and your kid will eventually join you.

  2. maybe becuuase she think z da sand is alive n so yea

  3. maybe he/she doesn't like the way it feels???  feels weird??? who knows kids can be kinda weird sometimes...who knows what goes through their little minds!  try a small sand box at home to get him/her used to it...maybe its the wide open space of the beach mixed with the endless look of the water.

  4. My little girl didnt like getting her feet dirty :) she liked the water just not the sand....they will get over it soon :)

  5. i don't know, u don't have enough information for me 2 have an answer

  6. A lot of children have a difficult time adjusting to different textures on their feet (eg. grass, sand, water, etc.) It's just a phase and he/she should quickly learn to adjust. Just keep exposing him/her to new situations until it becomes something normal to them! ( I hope this is what you were referring to!)

  7. ask the child.

  8. Oh, I had a cousin like that. It's just a phase. He/she'll grow out of it soon enough=)

  9. How old is your child?  A toddler could be afraid of the sand on the beach because it is in the realm of the unknown and would need to be gently led into discovering the joy of playing with sand, etc.  A pre-teen on the other hand would have a host of other reasons for fearing the sand on the beach.  Whatever the age of the child, the best thing is for you to gently lead him/her into finding the solution.
