Why is my chlorophyll brown????

Question

i searched on the net to find a method of chlorophyll extraction from green leaves....i found that boiling em was the safest method....but the extract i got after boiling leaves was brown and stincky.....any body gona tell me why this happened and HOW CAN I GET ONLY GREEN CHLOROPHYLL
