Why is my cockatie keep making a weird noise?

my girl cockatiel keeps making a wierd noise it kind of sounds like a chicken. they have a nest box attatched to their cage it will be two weeks this sunday that they have it is their something wrong wit her

Well, the male cockatiels are bigger singers than the females.  Male c***s sing for a variety of reasons.  While the hens (females) do tend to express themselves vocally, it isn't usually in a singing-form.  She may be communicating something to the male, but I really don't know what.  Sometimes, cockatiels mimick other counds ... is there anything else around that makes chicken noises?
