Why is my computer taking forever to download things?

  1. whether it within the system or through internet..

    If with in the system 1)Throw unwanted stuff from your system

    2) check for viruses

    If internet improve your connection speed and also donot often browse when something is downloading.

    And moreover be patient

    How fast are you expecting to download?

    How fast is your ISP?

    Is this on large files or simply loading web pages?

    Sometimes you're just can't do anything but be patience.

    I suggest to use some download manager, so you can continue the download another day.
