I have a new macbook that runs on mac OS X version 10.5.4. One day, out of nowhere, it starts talking out loud. It sounded like it was reading an excerpt out of a book. I don't think it is anything stored on my computer. It has been scanned recently for viruses and came up clean. This isn't the first time it has happened, though it's only happened a handful of times, all on macs, but it always freaks me out. The things it reads always sound like they're out of a murder mystery or something! Why is this happening? How can I make it stop?

  2. Did someone die in your family recently? If so, then maybe he/she reincarnated into a Macbook that you bought and now it is telling you his/her favorite book!!

  3. voiceover maybe? its in sys pref/universal access.

  4. Take it to the Apple store and get it fixed.
