  1. Well done for getting yourself out of debt ..

It must have been painful .. but have you ACTUALLY learnt the lesson ??

Stop trying to borrow money and your Credit Score will improve .

  2. How much time?  Negative information can be reported for 7 years after the date it was paid in full, settled or charged off

  3. You've learned a bitter/painful lesson about our unfair credit system: Paying off old charged-off debt won't help your credit very much....It can make a slight improvement, but not much. Paid charge-offs are almost as bad as unpaid charge-offs. It shouldn't be like this, but it is.

  4. It's gonna take TIME for your score to improve.  You've paid off some old "bad" debts but that bad information still remains as part of your credit history.  What you need to do now is start demontrating "good" credit behavior, with a secured card if necessary.
