Why is my crochet square turning into a circle?

ive been "trying" to crochet a blanket BUT my square keeps turning into a circle so now it looks like a jewish hat bc its curving inward like a hat the more i crochet the more it looks like a hat

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??

  1. Your corners.  Check your pattern again and see how you're supposed to do the corners.  Check it also to see where the increases are.  Make sure you're getting them all in.  


  2. To make a square you need to increase.  Usually the increases will be at the corners.  When you do not increase your project will turn into a hat or a bag.

  3. Not only the above recommendations, but are you turning at the end of each row or continuing in circular rounds?  Check your pattern and make sure you are turning if it tells you to turn.
