Question:

Why is my curly hair frizzy after and while I straighten it?

I took a shower in this afternoon, and after that, I waited it to be damp so after that I started to straighten it. While I was straightening it, my hair was frizzy. (Keep in mind that I have naturally frizzy curly hair.) And after that, it is not so sleeker or shiny or straighter. It is still frizzy but it is straight right now. What is the problem?

Plus, I use Solia (please don't recommend another straightener) and I use above 370 degrees or whatever. And I have no idea what choose for leave in conditioner and before straightening cream.

Thanks so much.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

  1. If it was damp while you straighten it, that's probably why.

I have frizzy hair and after I take a shower i wait for it to dry completely or I dry it, and then i straighten.

    Hope that helps!!!!

  2. it has to have a product in it to hold the straight style. Most likely something for frizz and straightener. You will have to use tiny little pieces and it will take awhile. When it gets smoother, then you need to spray it down straight.

  3. use a smoothing serum like Fructis smooth n silky serum. works good 4 me.

  4. I know this is a long letter but it's worth it.

I use the solia as well and I use around the same degress as you! Works well but..

Have your hair completely dry before you straighten.

    BUT!...

if you wanna keep your hair super straight and no frizz in humidity I suggest buying humidity blocks.

Yep I been where you have been.

I have extremely curly hair. I was wondering the same thing. I flat iron my hair everyday, but the bad part about flat ironing is that your seems to go back curly where there is humidity, meaning in the morning or in moist areas.

Flat ironing my hair was not enough.

I found the answer after sooo long.

I use moisture blocks and smoothing milks before I flat iron my hair, that's what will block the frizz.

    Products:

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Runaway Straight Smoothing Milk

    and

    Sabino Moisture block

They are creams for your hair.

This is a video of two wemon and a child that go into a steamroom, yes  where there is LOTS of humidity meaning frizzy hair. And it shows you that their product works and keeps your hair straight even in humidity, no more frizz. It really works.

You pretty much apply the moisture block and then flat iron your hair. It lasts until you bathe.

Pretty much this is a promotional video of the product. The product is from a small company.

Also a user on you tube who actually bought the moisture block and is showing you that it actually works. Links below.

    VIDEO USER REVIEW-

She already applied the sabino moisture block and then ironed her hair. In here she's in a bathroom with how water running to make the bathroom moist and steamy. And it still worked.

So if you want to buy the products here are the links:

Sabino Moisture Block ( can only find it online)

    http://www.sabinohair.com/

John Frieda Runaway Straight Smoothing Milk

( This you can find in walmart/target more than likely they will carry it or online)

But keep in mind sabino moisture block is the one which helps with the extreme humidity.

John Frieda  helps with straightening your hair really well helps with frizz but it's not as extreme as sabino moisture block. So one costs more than the other.

I actually use these products and it works on my hair.

Hopefully this helps, it does not hurt to try.

Oh and I almost forgot how you use them is:

    1) bathe if you like (Optional)

    2) Apply product (usually about a quarter size worth)

    3) Blow dry your hair OR let your hair dry naturally. Make sure your hair is completely dry after applying product.

    4) Flat iron your hair.

    That's all. :)

    Hope this helps!!
