Hi there,

I have a good olympus digital camera that iv had for a couple of years. Its always been a bit c**p when it comes to batteries, but last week when i went to use it again for work, i put fresh batteries in and the screen lit up, but then it turned off again. I tried some new batteries and it did the same thing.

I have been on the website and they have recomended that i use these Ni-MH batteries which are designed to power digital cameras etc. I have bought some online, and im waiting for them to be delivered, but i want to know if anyone has any other ideas as to what could be wrong. Do you think these will work?

The batteries i bought were only cheap normal ones and iv heard that these arent strong enough to power cameras

Thanks x

  1. are these double A's or lithium.. i would just take it into shop

  2. Ordinary alkaline batteries will only last a very short time, they really are not suited for cameras. use Ni-mH and you will never have any problems. Any camera shop would advise you to use them.

  3. Ordinary batteries should work, try some better brand ones.

  4. i think the batteries will work. but if not, maybe theres a glitch in the camara. if thats the problem, you can probably get it fixed. good luck with your camara! :]

  5. take it to a camera shop.

maybe you got it wet or

    like got sand in it.

  6. Ordinary batteries don't last long in cameras. Even the alkaline ones have a short life. When you get the new batteries they will need charging a few times before they give full life.

  7. Did you check the lens cap to see if it's on the camera?  I leave it on all the time, and it just shows black as a picture...

  8. Ask the question after you have put in fully charged NiMH batteries and it is still doing the same thing, else this could be a wasted question.
