I have a new Panasonic DMR48 dvd recorder and for the last 2 weeks it did not record the programmed LOST show on the digital channel saying it was copy protected. I have recorded other network show without a problem.

  1. It is recognizing a data signal from the program. More highly marketable programs will incorporate this signal in their transmission. Older DVD-Rs may not recognize it, but almost all new ones will. It is a new fact of life in our electronic existence. Freebies going the way of the dodo as we digitalize our world.

  2. You may not be able to record the digital signal coupled with digital audio. You may have to connect via composite (rca) cables or s-video.
