  1. No, she's normal. Some dogs just don't want to play. As long as she tolerates other dogs being around her without running from them or attacking them, she's appropriately socialized.

She might make friends with a few other dogs if she sees them often, but she doesn't sound like she craves doggie friendships. You're her companion.

  2. I have a Siberian Husky who is like that as well. She is just a bit shy around new dogs. After several visits to the same daycare center, she started warming up to the other dogs and playing with them. She also prefers dogs that are not too hyper so they put her in with the more adult dogs rather than the puppies.

I would socialize your dog in a daycare first. Dogs in daycare are usually more social and they are under supervision. At a dog park, you never know what type of dogs may come in, and most of the time their owners are not paying attention because they are chatting amongst themselves.

  3. No, I would be worried if she was attacking the other dogs.

This may help explain some dog behavior.

  5. Is this her first time @ the dog park?. If so it will take time for her to warm up to the other dogs. If you keep her closed in @ home and she knows noone but you she will be anti-social.

  6. she's still young. after awhile she will begin to play with the other dogs once she feels comfortable in her surroundings. (and bringing her to the dog park is a great way to get her socialized, too!) just keep on taking her...

  7. because she is a card carrying Republican dog.
